Brian A. Senatore is a portfolio manager on First Eagle’s Private Credit team, where he supports new transaction activity and manages a portfolio of leveraged loans made primarily to companies in the energy, specialty chemicals, packaging, and food & beverage industries. He has been a member of the team since 2014, when he joined NewStar Financial (acquired by First Eagle in December 2017).
Working in the sponsor-finance and equipment-leasing businesses, Brian has more than 27 years of middle-market lending experience across a wide range of industries. He also has significant experience in a range of functional roles, including sponsor coverage, underwriting, syndications, portfolio management and traditional banking, as well as fund management and portfolio/platform acquisitions.
Prior to NewStar, Brian was a director and underwriting manager at CIT in the Capital Equipment Finance Group, which finances large-ticket equipment for middle-market and large corporations. Before that, he was a principal with Allied Capital, a publicly traded business-development company and its affiliate, Callidus Capital, where he was a founding member of the middle-market financial-sponsor senior-debt platform. While at Allied, he served in a variety of roles in the origination and underwriting of senior and second-lien debt transactions for financial sponsors, as well as in portfolio management and fund management. Brian also worked with JPMorgan Chase for 15 years in various roles, including sponsor-finance origination and relationship management.
Brian completed the Management/Credit Training Program at JPMorgan Chase Bank (Chemical Bank). He attended Villanova University, where he received his BS cum laude in business administration (finance concentration).
