David Montague

David Montague is a portfolio manager on First Eagle’s Private Credit team, where he is primarily responsible for underwriting new business and managing the firm’s portfolio of leveraged loans. He joined First Eagle in May 2018. In nearly two decades of experience in leveraged finance, he has worked primarily with middle market companies and private equity sponsors. Before joining First Eagle, he was a vice president at the Audax Group. Prior to that, he was a vice president in the GMS Finance organization at Carlyle Group, a senior vice president at Churchill Financial, and a vice president at GE Commercial Finance, a division of GE Capital. David holds a BA in economics from the University of Rochester and an MBA in finance and public accounting from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.
