Mehdi Mahmud

President and Chief Executive Officer, First Eagle Investment Management

Mehdi joined First Eagle Investment Management as president and chief executive officer in March 2016. In his role as CEO, Mehdi oversees all aspects of First Eagle’s business and works in close collaboration with the key portfolio managers. Mehdi came to First Eagle from Jennison Associates where he was CEO and chairman of the board. Prior to his CEO role at Jennison, he held several senior management positions relating to product and business strategy, investment supervision of the firm’s value, small cap, opportunistic, and income equity capabilities, and oversight of key support areas including institutional, retail, and sub-advisory client activities.

Previously, Mehdi served in a variety of investment and management roles at J.P. Morgan Investment Management and Credit Suisse Asset Management. Mehdi received a BS in electrical engineering from Yale University.

Bridget Macaskill

Chairman of the Board, First Eagle Holdings, Inc.
Senior Adviser to First Eagle Investment Management and to the CEO

Bridget is chairman of First Eagle Holdings, Inc. and serves as senior adviser to First Eagle Investment Management and its CEO. She was formerly president and chief executive officer of First Eagle, which she joined in 2009. Prior to joining First Eagle, she served as chief operating officer, president, chief executive officer and chairman of Oppenheimer Funds, Inc., as well as a board director of several large public companies.

Bridget currently serves as a trustee and member of the investment committee of the TIAA-CREF funds. She has been active as a board member and advocate for numerous non-profit organizations. She is also recognized for creating the Oppenheimer Funds’ Women & Investing program, which is dedicated to educating American women about the need to take charge of their personal finances. A native of the United Kingdom, Bridget received her BS from the University of Edinburgh and completed post graduate studies at the Edinburgh College of Commerce.

John Arnhold

Chairman, First Eagle Investment Management

John is chairman of First Eagle Investment Management and a director of First Eagle Holdings, Inc. He is also the president and a trustee of First Eagle Funds.

John began his career in 1975 in the credit training program at Chase Manhattan Bank. In 1981 he joined Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb’s Merger Arbitrage Department as a research analyst. Two years later John joined First Eagle where—as a fourth-generation member of the firm’s founding family—he launched its merger arbitrage business as a portfolio manager.

In 1994 John became co-chief executive officer of the firm, and in 2002 he assumed full responsibility as CEO. He served in this capacity until February 2010, when he assumed the title of chief investment officer, which he held until 2016.

In addition to his roles at First Eagle and its affiliates, John is a director of Arnhold Ceramics; the Arnhold Foundation, which focuses on education, conservation and the arts; and the Mulago Foundation, which advances global health initiatives. John is a trustee and member of the investment committee at Trinity Episcopal Schools Corporation. He is vice chairman of the UC Santa Barbara Foundation and chairman of its investment committee. He is chairman of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and a member of the investment committee of the United States Tennis Association. John is also a board member and chair of the investment committee at Jazz at Lincoln Center and a member of the board of WNET, where he chairs the programming committee.

John received his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
